Matterport, the leading spatial data company, announced today a new partnership with Apex to enable an advanced store survey service for retail enterprises.
This partnership delivers an all-in-one store survey service, ApexView, that is being used by teams at Starbucks, Home Depot, 7/11, Fresh Market, and Chipotle.
“Brands with a large number of locations have struggled for decades from a lack of information about stores, making it difficult for everyone to make quick business decisions - from field-based employees to the CEO,” said Dan Cardona, Chief Operating Officer of Apex. “Our main objective has been to empower all business units, vendors and partners from design, facilities and operations to real estate, construction and the executive office. Now, they can all find the information they need from one source in minutes so that they can move projects forward faster.”
Designed With The Enterprise In Mind
Built leveraging Matterport’s spatial data and platform capabilities, this integrated service offers a simple and efficient solution capable of on-ramping any brand from 25 to 25,000 locations to quickly capture, generate, and analyze this information with a powerful suite of tools.
“With Apex, we’ve brought a powerful solution to market that helps restaurants and retailers know anything about any store at any time - all in one place,” said Jay Remley, Chief Revenue Officer of Matterport. “No longer do they have to send employees to stores to manage facilities, collaborate on merchandising strategy, or conduct safety inspections. Now, retail brands can have a complete virtual understanding of everything in their stores so that they can cut costs, plan more efficiently and make faster decisions. This partnership is a game-changer for the retail and restaurant industry.”
A White Glove Done-For-You Service
In the first step in the process, Apex’s data capture team physically travels to stores. Next, that data is uploaded, indexed, tagged to produce the ApexView toolkit. Add-on services are part of the suite of services such as ADA surveys, utility monitoring, as-builts and artificial intelligence analysis of data. The only thing an enterprise brand has to do is use it, something that shouldn’t be too hard considering stores seem to need updating or maintenance constantly.
“The stakes are high right now. The brands that continue to maintain and develop their stores the old-fashioned way, manually collecting information and lacking a full understanding of their building assets, will not be able to compete with those that adopt this new approach,” continues Cardona.
